Principal Tamiz Uddin Ahmed (1940–2006), educationist, was born at Naria. He was Principal of Purba Madaripur College from 1968 until 2002.[citation needed]

Alhaj Maolana Abdur Rashid was the founder Principal of Borokalinogor Senior Madrasa (the first highest educational institute of Goshairhat). He established Borokalinogor High School, Madrasa Bazar,Borokalinogor Govt. Primary School, Post office and a big pond on his father's own land in Goshairhat, Shariatpur for the welfare of the people.
